We independently produce entoprotein, a hypoallergenic and easily digestible protein obtained from the larvae of the black soldier fly insect.

The production is based on a unique technological process, so COSMOPET has no analogs.

PRODUCTION STAGES
Reproduction in
insectariums

An insectarium is a room where the necessary conditions are created for soldier flies — high temperature and humidity.

One fly brings up to 500 eggs in a lifetime, only 1% of them remain in the insectarium, and the rest turn into protein.

Cultivation and
preparation of larvae

Vertical farms are special boxes in which larvae grow and feed. Bread, offal and water are used as a feed substrate

As soon as the larvae grow to 2-2.5 centimeters (this process takes about 5 days), they are sent to an aeroseparator. This device separates the larva from humus, a product of nutrient medium processing.

The final step in preparing the larvae is washing in a special bath. Then they are carefully dried with steam.

Getting protein
concentrate

After complete drying, the larvae are sent to an oil press, which separates the fat from the protein-lipid concentrate.

Next, the fat enters the tricanter, where a protein with a high content of essential amino acids is separated from it.

Protein concentrate
processing

ЗThen the protein is dried, ground and additionally sieved to achieve an optimal grinding fraction.

The protein is ready to go to feed production.

Stages of feed production
1. Checking the raw materials in the laboratory

Each batch of the obtained protein from the soldier fly is tested in two independent laboratories: we check the absence of pathogenic microorganisms, protein concentration, ash content and other indicators necessary to comply with GOST.

2. Mixing of dry ingredients

The main components are mixed in the right proportion. We combine the best quality ingredients in a mixer so that all the vitamins and minerals are evenly distributed.

3. Crushing of components

Fine grinding of the mass of future granules in a high-performance crusher ensures a delicate texture of the feed and helps obtain a homogeneous mixture.

4. Extrusion

Passing through a special device (extruder), the mixture is heated and subjected to increased pressure. Proteins and carbohydrates with a complex structure are broken down into simpler ones, which allows their better absorption in the gastrointestinal tract. Ready-made granules of the usual shape are made.

5. Drying

The granules on the conveyor pass through the drying chamber. A special drying mode preserves vitamins and nutrients of the feed and removes excess moisture.

6. Vacuum spraying

After that, the granules are moved to a vacuum device. Coating granules in an airless environment with fatty components saturates them with taste and adds nutrition. Cosmopet does not use flavorings, instead the food is attractive for its rich composition and fats from natural ingredients.

7. Cooling

A gradual decrease in temperature reduces the fragility of the granules so that they can be safely moved into the package.

8. Packaging

Before the feed gets into the bag, it passes through a sieve so that all the granules are well-matched. And the multi-layered packaging with an additional foil layer will preserve the freshness of the feed and its taste.
